well, here's the one i had lying around, again. you can snag it off of my userpic page.
Thanks, Ace! It'll do for now, although I really want a logo in the long term. :)
i had an image in my mind of sort of thick-stick-figure people (like in the universal signs for "pedestrian crossing", "men's/women's restroom", "stairwell", etc.), adults and children, done in rainbow colors... but i can't come up with a combination of sizes and genders that doesn't leave somebody out.
*nod* I think using people is right out...there's just no way to be properly inclusive in a 100x100 pixel icon.
I was thinking about joined hands, maybe rainbowed in a cool way? It's kind of been done, but, then, most everything has. (Saw a "Family Tree" GLBT group that had a tree with rainbow leaves, for example.)
how about the kind of design where the hands form a knot or circle? each hand is grasping the wrist of the one next to it. something like this,
only as a drawing, not as a photo - maybe each hand a different color, and a rainbow-colored heart in the center?
*nod* Yes! Although a heart might push it over the edge of cheesy for a lot of people...I wonder what symbols there are that might relate to family that we could put in the center? *plans to google later* Or we could do the triangle...
*looks about* *taps foot*
While I can picture it in my head, my artistic abilities are limited. :D
We're all in the same boat! *pout*
here's one. :)
Psychedelic! *grin* I like it.
It's amazing what you can do when you kaleidoscope effect on a rainbow. :D
I put the logo on Ace's picture. Let me know if you like. :D
Hrm. I think the rose kind of disappears, although I like the look of the logo. :)
Er...logo should be text. :P
Maybe if I made the text smaller and put it further in the cirners....Hmmm. I like the one submitted below. That one's great!!
that would be corners. Geezum-crow. *aggravated with stuttering fingers* lol
Oh, I LIKE that! It takes a minute to realize they're hands, but I think that makes it interesting. (And I like that they look a bit like a sun, too.) I think a different font (maybe the one Kat used in the one she posted above?), a bit more legible...I think I like the purple text better than the black. It would also be good if we could sharpen up the hands a bit; they are a tad blurry...
THANK YOU! *hugs*
*ponders* I'd like to use "Friendly Families", the whole term, one over the other, you know?
I'm at work. Can you email this one to me? (I can't from work or boss-m,an will see :(
I can use the font on it and see how it comes out. :D
Emailing you the blank one now. :)
Oh poop. I wish I'd seen this comment before I made
But, that'll work, now that I've found a font that's readable in color (rather than plain black & white). Okay, be right back.;)
I actually like the way this one came out better. Same number of letters in each word, so it balanced better.:)
Hrm. I like this (and the font), but I do think the font obscures the logo a bit too much; what do you think of the ones Kat made (see the post after this one)? I'm not sure which font I like better, although I'm leaning towards this one at the momemt, if we could make it smaller maybe, and try putting it in the corners?
*nod* I could definitely put it in the corners. Let me try that ('cause you were all trying to stop me while I was writing this comment.;).
Sometimes, I really wish I'd write down which font I used for which thing. Simplifly things and all that.
My server is down, but I made a gallery
which is probably what I should have done in the first place.:)
Yay, gallery! I hope you figure out which font it was, as the other ones in the gallery are too thin, I think. Might want to try a purple fill on the text, too, and see how that looks...
Sorry it took me so long...I've been mostly away from the computer since Friday.
I still don't remember which font it was, but I like the way this batch came out. So, maybe it's in there. :) They're the ones with letters rather than numbers (ffa vs ff1) Ze Gallery
I don't see the same names they had when you uploaded 'em, but that's okay, 'cause I remember which ones I saw before. :)
I think I like the last one (where you transposed the ie, oops!) the best, although I'm thinking the purple is a little too dark. If it was more of a lavender, it'd probably be easier to read...
Wow. I'm surprised I didn't catch that. I'm also impressed that I only did it once. *Grin* (That did make it easier to find though...;)
You were right, lavender was the way to go. I did one the "regular" way, then did one where I went around the letters in black, 'cause Paintshop was feathering it a bit too much. I removed the other icons, but they're still on this computer, if you get lonely for 'em.;)
I'm going to have to spell-check "friendly" for the next month now.;)
I think I prefer the top one. Kat saved some as .png's and they looked much crisper; so I think that top one, if we can get the hands crisper, is the keeper. :)
*gandering* Those are looking good too. :D Well, there will be plenty from which to choose. :)
